Hi. This is Jane Lanhee Lee. I've been a reporter for over 30 years, beginning in 1995 with The New York Times Video News International and going on to Reuters, Dow Jones Newswires, The Wall Street Journal, Associated Press Television Network, Forbes, and Bloomberg. I've worked in South Korea, China, Silicon Valley and Taiwan. I speak English, Korean, Chinese and French. And I'm working on a math/physics BSc at UK's Open University after catching the quantum bug at a D-Wave/Google/Ames Research press conference in December 2015.
QuantumJane is my attempt to explain the various quantum technology news that is flooding the internet to people who are not necessarily in the technology weeds. During my time in Silicon Valley, I found that even many people in the tech world are confused about quantum computing. I'll dig in to find answers and I'll keep studying to see if there is an easier way to explain the technology – without simplifying things so much that it's no longer useful. And we're all busy. So I'll be your filter and explainer. And none of the work by QuantumJane is paid for by industry. There is no sponsorship. There are no ads. (except perhaps on YouTube)
Growing up, I was told physics was only for "smart" people. Over the last 30 years, I have come to realize that hard concepts can be explained more easily. I hope my efforts will open up the field to more people, both young and "mature".
